"The Devil Made Me Do it"
One of the most troubling aspects of being single is;
You have no one to blame for your mistakes.
So, now you've gone and done it. Now what?
Rare is the person who can take responsibility for their own mistakes and flaws. As a child we usually knew (or suspected) what would happen when we made a boo-boo. But as an adult, the consequences are often not so clear.
Of course there is always lying as a last resort (though more often it's the first,) but if we want to hold on to some semblance of integrity, what should we do?
And, where do these temptations come from in the first place?
According to the Bible:
"Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God'; .... He tempts no one; but each person is lured and enticed by his own desire."
"....It is craving that leads back to rebirth, bound up in passion and greed."
The Bhagavad Gita (Hindu) says:
"Selfish desire is found in the senses, mind, and intellect, misleading them and burying wisdom in delusion."
The Qur'an (Islam) expresses it this way:
"Nay, but verily man is rebellious, for he thinks himself independent."
All seem to point the finger right back at us. But surely there must be some one we can blame.
