Life with the Philistines

13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh

Hello all you folks out there in radio land. This is your announcer Herald Promulgate bringing you another adventure of Life with the Philistines, that normal family everybody loves to imitate. Let's look in on the Philistines and see what they're up to today, shall we?

In today's episode we find Mrs Philistine talking to a neighbor. Listen:

"Did you hear the news Martha? Isn't exciting? Finally we're going to get to meet Him."

"Meet who Harriet? Slow down and talk straight. I don't know what you're talking about."

"You haven't heard Martha? It's on all the stations. It's the biggest news since, since, since I don't know when. Come on, get ready and let's go so we can get a good seat."

"Go where Harriet? I'm not dressed to go anywhere. Besides, I still don't know what you're talking about."

"I'm talking about Jesus making His personal appearance. I can't believe you haven't heard about it. We've been waiting for this day for two thousand years, and it's finally going to happen. Aren't you excited? Come on, let's go."

"Tonight Harriet? Are you sure it's tonight? Tonight's a bad day for me what with my having to do my hair and prepare for the PTA meeting tomorrow. Can't Jesus come some other night? Maybe He can come on Saturday. I'm not doing anything then."

"Are you kidding me Martha? This is Jesus we're talking about, not a vacuum cleaner salesman. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. You've heard about it in church haven't you? Haven't you been listening to the sermons? Just last week the pastor told us the time is near. Weren't you listening?"

"I listen, kind of, some of the time. Maybe my mind drifted when he told us about it. But it doesn't matter. It's like I told you, I've got to do my hair tonight. I'll catch Him the next time He comes to town. He needs to learn to give us more warning, I mean, He should make an appointment or something. He surely doesn't expect us to drop everything just because He comes to town unexpectedly. I'll see Him next time He visits, that is, if He gives me time to prepare."

10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. (Mat 25:)
