Penelope Potter Ss.T

CONDEMNATION

He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

.

"Good morning children."

"GOOD MORNING MISS POTTER!"

"Is everyone ready to begin their Sunday School lesson for today?"

"YES MISS POTTER!"

"Very good. Then we will begin. Today's lesson is about judging others. Can any of you children tell me what it means to condemn?"

"I think I know Miss Potter. It means something is old and no good. We used to live in a house that was comdemneded and they said it was a bad house because it had some kind of moldy stuff in it."

"Yes Lucy, that is part of what condemnation means, but something doesn't have to be bad or old to be condemned. For instance.... yes Jimmy?"

"I know someone who is comendeded. Raul there is one of those kinds. Nobody likes him because he's like what Lucy said, he's no good and conmendeded."

"Raul, is this true? Do people condemn you?"

"I don't know Miss Potter. People don't like me because I talk different then them and I live in a old barn. My moma said I talk funny 'cause my tongue is tied up. I don't know how to untie it though or I'd do it."

"Is there anyone else who doesn't like Raul because he talks funny or lives in a barn?"

"I do Miss Potter. I got to not like him or my friends won't like me. I don't want to be like Raul and not have friends, so I gots to not like him."

"I see, and is there anyone else besides Jimmy and Louis who condemns Raul?"

"Me Miss Potter."

"And me too Miss Potter. I'd like to like Raul because he's a nice guy, but I got to do what the guys say to do or I'll be comendeded too."

"Oh, I see. It's more important to you children to be liked by others than to do what you believe is the right thing to do, is that correct children?"

"Yeah, I guess it's what you said, if you mean I got to be like the others, like normal and stuff like that. It's normal to not like people other people don't like."

"Yes Roger, it is normal, but is it right? I have an idea that might show what it's like in the eyes of Jesus to judge as you children are doing. I would like everyone who feels they must condemn Raul and stay away from him to move to the right side of the room, and everyone who doesn't condemn Raul to move to the left side of the room."

"Ok Miss Potter. I moved. Now what? Are we going to play a game?"

"Yes, in a way we are. I see only two of you have decided to not condemn Raul, is that correct? Are you all sure you're on the side of the room you want to be on? Look around you to see if those you're with are the ones you want to stay with and to appease, that is, to have them like you because you're like them. Is everyone sure of their decision"

"YES MISS POTTER."

"Very good. Then Raul, will you come sit with the two girls who are not condemning you?"

"Are you sure Miss Potter? They won't get mad if I sit with them?"

"If they don't want to sit with you they can move to the other side of the room. Now, is everyone happy with their choice?"

"YES MISS POTTER."

"Very good. Then I would like to tell you that I have decided to take you all camping this week...."

"Oh boy! Where we going to Miss Potter? To the woods I betcha."

"Can we go fishing too Miss Potter? I really like to fish a whole bunch."

"Yes, we will go fishing, and we'll go hiking, and we'll see deer and other animals as well. It's going to be a weekend you'll really enjoy."

"Oh goody! When are we going Miss Potter? Tomorrow maybe? I always wanted to go camping and I never got to. This is going to be fun."

"Yes it will Jimmy, but I'm afraid you and the children on your side of the room won't be able to go."

"We won't? Why not Miss Potter? I really, really want to go camping real bad. Why can't I go?"

"Because, Jimmy, I'm taking Raul, and you have decided to have nothing to do with Raul. Jesus made a rule we must all learn if we're to be with Him on His camping trip. If we condemn others, even one person, then we will be judged and condemned ourself. I hope you children have learned this lesson today."

1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. (Mat 7:)

7But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. (Mat 12:)

63Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? 64Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. (Mark 14:)

33Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Rom 8:)

13For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath showed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. (James 2:)

1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Rom 12:)

31When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42For I was an hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. (Mat 25:)
